Where cruises from Boston actually go
Most cruises from Boston head north to Canada and New England or out to Bermuda, and nearly all of them sail between April and October. The few Caribbean voyages are one-way trips in the fall, as ships leave for the winter, and the Europe voyages are long summer crossings. The counts on each card come straight from the schedule.

Canada and New England
The busiest route from Boston, and the reason September and October are the peak months. Ships call at ports such as Portland, Saint John, Halifax, Sydney and Charlottetown. Some sail round trips of 7 to 14 nights. Many others are one-way and end in Quebec City or Montreal, so you fly home from Canada and need a passport to do it.

Bermuda
Every Bermuda cruise from Boston is a 7-night round trip on Norwegian Breakaway, leaving on a Sunday between April and October. She docks at the Royal Naval Dockyard, at the west end of the island. In 2027 the trips stop at Halifax on the way out and spend two days in Bermuda. In 2028 they sail straight there and stay three.

Caribbean and Florida
One-way voyages in October and November, when ships leave New England for the winter. They end in Fort Lauderdale, San Juan or New Orleans, so the flight home is part of the plan. The schedule we track has no Caribbean or Bahamas round trips from Boston.

Europe and transatlantic
Long summer voyages on Holland America's Volendam, by way of Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland. The 35-night version crosses to Norway, the Netherlands and Ireland and comes back to Boston. The 17-night version ends in Rotterdam, so you fly home from Europe.
